Ball Joint

Ball Joint

The ball joint is the aim of the pivot. For example, when a car makes a turn, the pivots allow the wheel to rotate easily and without locking, while maintaining its upright position. The parts of the ball joint are: the caster, the rubber guard, the ball and the socket. On a car with independent rear suspension, the ball joints are attached to the rear suspension control arms. They do not rotate but simply move vertically.

When to replace the ball joint?

If you notice a clicking sound when the weight of the car changes, it could mean that one or more of the ball joints are loose. Also, if the car is pulling to one side or the other, it could be due to temporary alignment problems. A worn pivot can lead to serious damage to the car.
