Brake Pad Set

The brake pads are mounted on the brake caliper. This installation allows movement at the brake disc and backwards. When the brake pedal is depressed, the hydraulic pressure presses the brake pads together and the resulting friction stops the car. Each such brake application rubs the material against the pads. When the friction material wears off, the pad plate, made of metal, rubs against the metal brake disc and makes a strange sound.

When to replace the brake pads?

When the brake pads wear out, not only does the car start to make an unusual sound, but it is also no longer safe to drive and should be taken to a workshop as soon as possible. According to the requirements, the brake pads must have a minimum thickness of at least 7 mm including the metal pad plate. Every second brake lining replacement, the brake disc must also be replaced.
