Joints |

Joints (connectors, half-shafts) on a vehicle help to keep the load on the wheels even during cornering. The wheels on different sides of the vehicle travel different distances when turning, so the task of the half-axles is to distribute this load evenly, regardless of whether the turn is sharp, the road surface is slippery, smooth or any other condition. The half-shaft transmits the power of the gearbox to the wheels.

When do you need to replace the joints and half-shafts?

Joints and half-shafts eventually wear out and need to be replaced. Different weather conditions, dirt, water affect the half bearings. They can also be replaced if the protective rubbers are torn, which can allow lubricant to seep out of the half-sheet. The most common cause of wear or failure is the hinges of the half-shaft, but these are usually not replaced, requiring replacement of the whole half-shaft.
